Therefore go  and make  disciples of all  nations...

DISCIPLESHIP

Jesus called the church to go and make disciples:  "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matt. 28:19-20, NIV).

The two parts of disciple making are (1) "baptizing them," which is bringing the lost to accept Christ as Savior and Lord, and (2) "teaching them to obey," which is spiritual maturity. Making disciples includes BOTH of these.  The Discipleship Process of SPHAC is focused on BOTH of these parts.

The Bible also made it very clear what the spiritual gifts of the church were for when it said:

"Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" (Eph. 4:11-13, NIV).

Spiritual maturity is the purpose of the spiritual gifts.

Jesus Christ never called us to be JUST believers; He called us to be disciples--believers who will follow after Christ, seek spiritual maturity and obey Christ with all of their life.

For those who desire to grow in the faith and walk with God, we have a plan to help you do just that. However, our desire isn’t just more knowledge of God to you; our goal is life transformation. That’s right, we don’t want a bunch of believers with a fattened knowledge of God; we want to see life change through that knowledge! From the day a person becomes a new believer, our goal is to help that person become spiritually mature so that he or she can confidently help others grow as well.

If you’re the one wanting to grow, we’ll challenge you with the Word of God to help you change your life; if you’re the one helping others grow, seeing other people transformed into Christ-likeness will be rewarding.
